Westcombe Park Netball Club was first started in 1983 by partners of members of Westcombe Park Rugby Football Club. With a network of enthusiastic friends, the Netball Club became a success. Over the years many players have qualified as coaches and umpires, with several members playing for the County. The club, now in its 21st Year has over 30 playing members, with three squads. All 3 teams play in the North West Kent League (NWKL). Games are played on Saturdays roughly every other week at Coldharbour Sports Centre, Chapel Farm Road, Mottingham. Start times ranging from 9.00am to 3.00pm.
In addition to this, on Thursday evenings, our 2nd and 3rd teams play in the Whiteoak Netball League at Swanley in Divisions 2 and 4. (http://www.whiteoaknetball.co.uk) Our 1st team play in the Malling and Maidstone Netball League – held at Aylesford Rugby Club on Thursday evenings in the Premier Division. (http://www.mallingandmaidstonenetballleague.co.uk) We also enter two teams into a cup competition. This is run on a handicap system. Our Winter season runs from September to April, and we play in various summer Leagues also, NWKL and Tonbridge Summer League. The whole Club train together on Wednesday evenings 8-9.30pm fortnightly at Coldharbour Sports Centre. We have many Junior members now and their development is important to us. The Junior members train regularly with us and play in the Winter and Summer League matches. Trials are held every year where 3 squads are picked. Westcombe Park Netball Club Helen Sims |
